Chapter 6

1.What would Dave’s father often tell him?
David's father would often ask him if he has had anything to eat.
2.During one period of time how long did his mother go without feeding him?
David's mother went 10 consecutive days without feeding him.
3.What would his mother say to him sarcastically?
David's mother would say sarcastically "oh poor little baby".
4.What did Dave want more than anything?
David wanted an ounce of respect and a little bit of dignity more than anything.
5.Why does father the protector even if he doesn’t do anything?
Father was his protector because whenever he was home his mother didn't beat him as much.
6.How many days does he go without food?
David goes 10 days without food.
7.What were some of mother’s favorite games?
His mothers favorite games were gas chamber and when he only had 2 minutes to eat game.
8.What did the bucket have inside of it?
The bucket had clorox and amonia inside of it.
9.Where did she get the idea for the game?
David's mother said she read it in the the newspaper.
10.What did Dave cough up for over an hour?
David coughed out blood for over an hour.
11.A few times his mother whooped him with what?
David's mother would whoop him the dog's chain.
12.What job does mother make him do?
David's mother makes him clean the dishes wash clothes and clean the bathroom.
13.Why doesn’t any of his brothers help out?
His brothers don't help him because they are scared of his mother.
14.Who was the first to treat him with respect?
David's subtitute teacher was the first person to treat him with respect.
15.In the last week of October what was the tradition at his mother’s house?
She would have davis's brothers carve disigns on pumkins.
16.Where did his mother decide to let him sleep?
David's mother decided to let him sleep in the master bedroom.
17.What happened on a Sunday the last month of summer?
She acted diffrent and started being really nice to him and started to tell him she was sorry.
18.What did he get for Christmas and why?
David got a pair of rollerskates for christmas, they were just another tool for his mother to get him out of the house and make him suffer.
19.When did he feel like he was back in the family? Why?
David felt like he was back in the family because when his mother was sick his father let him play with his brothers and he felt accepted back into the fold.
20.Who was Shirley?
Shirley was David's neighbor.
21.How did mom act when Shirley was around?
Mother played the role of a loving caring person.
22.Describe what happens p.123 how does mom change?
David's mother starts crying and hugging him telling him it was all going to be over.
23.Did she return to her normal mean self?
Yes, davids mother returned to her normal evil self.
24.Why do you think David believes her?
I think David believes her because she was being too nice.
25.what were her reasons for her kindness?
David's mother was only being nice to him because social services were going to inspect her home.
