chapter 7

1. How did Elie again help his father when they were on the train? Elie woke him up when they were throwing the dead bodies out of the train.
2. Describe the scene Elie witnessed between the father and son.Eli witnessed a son beat his father to death over a piece of bread. Then the son got beat to death by other Jews on the train.
3. How many got out of the wagon? Where had they arrived? A dozen of them got out of the wagon when they arrived at Buchenwald.
4. Explain how the father/son roles had been reversed in the case of Elie and his father?
Before, it was Elie's father who was looking out for him, and now Elie is looking after his father.
5. Imagine being in Elie's position or the fathers position during this chapter, Tell me what you are going through and how would you handle it, feel, react, behave, or be!!! ( 7 sentences)
first I would ask my Dad if he wants to keep on going, I know he would say yes but if no, i would just die with him, but i would try anything and do anything to keep my pops and myself going as long as we could just help him survive.

Part 2
1. Describe the setting.The setting of this chapter is a train car and they are being transported to another camp. Like always it is crowded and cramped. People are dieing and being thrown out when the car comes to a stop.
2.What do you think elie meant when he said, “ to die today or tomorrow. What is the difference?” I think Elie meant that it didnt matter if he lived or died. He felt that he was going to die rgardless so it just didn't matter.
3.If his father was to die, do you think elie would have the motivation to live? I think since at this moment he is living for his father and they are dependent on eachother I think Elie would be too sad.
4.What did the people do with the dead bodies?When ther was a dead body they just threw them out.
5.Describe how life was like in this chapter for them. Give examples
In this chapter it got worse, they are starving, literally killing each other for food.
6.What happened when a piece of bread was thrown into a wagon?When a piece of bread was thrown into the wagon, the Jews would brutally fight each other.
7.How do the german’s react to the stampede?The German's think it is entertaining.
8.The son that let his father die over a piece of bread, what was he behaving like? Why do you think people were acting this way?The son and everyone else, were acting like animals. They are starving, and they will do anything for food.
9.How old is elie now in this chapter?Elie is fifteen in this chapter.
10.Being his age and all things that are happening to him, could you relate to his feeling and troubles?i cannot relate to Elie at all, I was having fun being a kid at age 15.
11.Who was Meir Katz? Describe him.Meir Katz was a friend of Elies father, who worked as a gardener in Buna. He was bigger than the rest of the men so he was put in charge of the wagon.
12.Who attacked elie, why?A stranger attacked him, and he doesnt know why.
13.What as this journey like for all the jews…describe it.This journey is the worat for the jews they are tired and even though they want to slow down they can't. They are all starving and freezing.
14.Where did they arrive to?They arrived to Buchenwald.
15.Make a prediction about the next chapter, do you think father or elie will die?I think Elies father, is going to give up and not want to live much longer, and Elie is going to struggle a little more to try to keep him alive.
